Kony Solutions Provides Support for BlackBerry 10
Daily Insight | Chris Marsh | February 14, 2013
BlackBerry 10 (BB10) is already making a splash, and it hasn’t even launched in the U.S. yet. Now, Kony Solutions is announcing it will provide support for BlackBerry’s new devices, the Z10 and the Q10 smartphones.
According to Silicon India, Kony Solutions, which provides mobile and multi-channel application development, is putting user experience at the forefront of its plans. The KonyOne Platform allows companies to target devices, now including BlackBerry, as a platform for new apps and also easily allows users to port existing apps to BB10. Currently, the platform is running on more than 10,000 mobile devices and seven operating systems according to the company.
Yankee Group Principal Analyst Chris Marsh comments
“The enterprise is on the precipice of its very own mobile apps gold rush, with platforms such as Kony designed to help them capitalize on this by offering cross-platform development and management of apps. However, it’s not just here where the secret sauce lies. With fragmented versions of different OSs it’s all important to have enough engineering capacity to rapidly enable support of new platforms like BB10 as they emerge, and to enable by association existing apps to port across to the new platform.”
